When it comes to getting rid of your car though, you need to know exactly what to do and where to put it. Head to a Used Car Dealer
There are plenty of used car dealers out there that would be happy to give you a valuation of your car and within an hour or so you get to leave with a cheque. So, make sure that you are prepared to take a lower offer if it means walking away with cash in your hand.

The key here is to ensure that you do your research, as you need to make sure that it’s valued correctly. You stand to make the money this way, but it doesn’t take a lot of work and if you accept a bad check you could get burned.

If you are heading to a dealership to buy a newer vehicle, you can trade in your old car and you can even trade in for credit. If you’re not worried about getting cash for the old car, you could always use whatever it’s valued at towards the cost of your new car. If you’re not short for change, you could donate your car and allow somebody else to use it. Not only will it save you some money at tax times, charities will remove the car for you for free. There’s a lot of paperwork to follow up with especially if you’re using a nonprofit, but donating your car can actually help somebody else.

Whether you get it wrecked or you just leave it there, is completely up to you. Some people still sell their old car for scrap metal, and it’s an easy way to get something for your car that you no longer need. The junkyard will also haul it away for free but just call ahead just in case.
