A wonderful and festive day out for the whole family? It’s Whitehall Garden Centre Christmas 2022
Yes, it’s officially December and freezing here in the U.K. We have had a whole week of fog and cold weather. This is where somewhere cosy to visit comes in so handy and if you’re close enough to the Whitehall Garden Centre Christmas displays then we can’t recommend it enough. From fun for the kids to great choices of decorations and gifts. It’s such a festive day out and we have enjoyed the Christmas displays for years.

Whitehall Garden Centre Christmas Displays
The reason why Whitehall is the best when it comes to festive fun is its Christmas Displays. This has been something that we have enjoyed as a family since our youngest was born. It has become a part of our family traditions for many years. This is also an activity we enjoyed as children ourselves if you were from the area.
Beautiful, large and twinkling Christmas displays. With Santa’s and gingerbreads or book themed. Maybe a dinosaur Christmas? They push the boat out each year and the best part, it’s completely free. This year was no different and we enjoyed it as it got darker.
Winter scenes are always a great way to feel festive and get into the Christmas Spirit and Whitehall has so many to enjoy. Whether you want something more traditional like these Santa or snowman scenes.

Or if you love something a little more whimsical. Perhaps you have a princess, fairytale, unicorn-obsessed child who loves to see their favourite mythical creature included in the festivities.

This year saw the return of a family favourite and that is the giant nutcracker surrounded by all the nutcrackers in the world. If you’re as obsessed with nutcrackers as we are then you will have your work cut out trying to pick just one to take home. Sadly the giant one isn’t available!

We particularly loved the Santa Village walkthrough and toy workshop. This led straight through to the big man himself, Santa Claus and Mrs Claus by his side.

It felt like being in a Christmas version of Jim Henson’s The Dark Crystal. It was so magical to see and the workshop felt busy with all the elves hard at work making gifts.

Finally, to find Santa and Mrs Claus at the end checking the naughty and nice list was super sweet and something little ones really enjoy.

Model Village
They also have their beautiful model village which is simply stunning. As soon as you see it you want one in your house and you can buy the pieces as they’re displayed around the edge of the room too.

I could sit here all day and go through pictures and describe everything to see but this is just the tip of the iceberg. I’ve not included all the lights and decorations to see or the various Christmas tree rooms decorated in their own unique styles.

It just oozes inspiration around every corner and it’s hard to not get excited. You can also follow Whitehall via their Facebook page where they hold great competitions at this time of year.
Gift Choices Galore
As mentioned above there is a huge selection of Christmas displays to see but also a huge selection of gifts to peruse. Clothes for the fashionista in your life all the way to amazing homeware or toys and books for the children. This year they also had a great display of gorgeous biscuits that would be very appreciated on a cold Christmas evening. There is also a massive selection of Christmas-orientated home decor that I think would be well received.

Stop For A Warm Drink?
You can also stop for a lovely, festive-inspired warm drink or a bite to eat in either of the cafes that you can choose from. No better way to finish a festive day than with a beautiful hot chocolate. Be sure to check the Whitehall website for opening times and what delicious food and drink are on offer.
