Whitehall Garden Centre Lacock

If you have been reading my blogs posts for a while now you may know that this is one of our favourite Christmas traditions. Whitehall garden centre lights and Christmas displays really are the best and the kids have so much fun. The theme varies each year and previous years have included Nostalgic Christmas vibes, fairytales and even storybook themed displays.

We will be going again this year as haven’t missed a year yet since our eldest was about one, eyes peeled for the post! It really is such a festive place that leaves you right in the Christmas mood. There is usually an ice rink, Christmas cafe, festive animals and a Santa grotto but with Covid still knocking around, they have had to scale back this year.

Once you finished taking in the lights and displays there is also a wonderful shop to enjoy. Artisan foods, beautiful gifts, plants and flowers. Or perhaps some of their home decor items is what you’ll love? It really does have so much to offer that the whole family will enjoy the visit. For any and all info, including their address, please be sure to check the Whitehall Garden Centre website.

Santa Express at Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway

Now, this really is a Christmas treat and having experienced a similar trip, I can say they really are wonderfully festive. Located in Cumbria Ravenglass and Eskdale Railway offers the amazing Santa Express. Take a festive steam train trip to visit Father Christmas at his grotto.

Enjoy warming hot chocolate and seasonal foods at great prices before visiting Father Christmas who of course has lots of early gifts for the children who visit. What a truly magical day for the family. Train times and all details can be found on the website.

Is Hogwarts in The Snow The Best UK Christmas Attraction?

Although slightly more expensive than your average Christmas outing (check the Warner Bros studio tour website for full details). This really does look and sound like a once in a lifetime Christmas adventure! Spending the day celebrating Christmas in the magical world of Harry Potter.

The tickets include lots of lovely extras but the main activities sound simply perfect for any Harry Potter fan. With new Christmas touches being added to the Forbidden Forest, Diagon Alley and Hagrid’s hut. You can also expect to see the Great Hall in all its festive glory. You could also book a table for a festive 2-course meal in the Great Hall (over 18’s only, separate tickets needed) which also sounds incredible.

Running from 12th November 2021 – 16th January 2022 there is still plenty of time to enjoy this Christmas and wizard magic combo with your family.

Christmas Markets

We cannot forget the chaos and joy that is a good Christmas market.
