My top 10 Movies perfect for Autumn
Hello to all of you beautiful people! I hope today finds you well and happy!
We are now enjoying those toasty Autumn evenings snuggled on the couch. But what movie should you watch? Well, here I’ve put together a top 10 list of my favourite films of all time to help get you inspired or even remind you of some classic you forgot! I want to state these are in no particular order as I can never choose one over the others. If these films aren’t to your liking you can always check out THIS LIST instead.
The Labyrinth Should be Added to Your Favourite Films List
Starring the legendary David Bowie as the Goblin King. Sarah a teenage girl must solve his twisted, unfair Labyrinth in order to save her baby brother. Making unusual friends along the way on an epic venture, Jim Henson really hit the nail on the head with this one.
Forrest Gump
The tale of a simple man with an awesome tale to tell! Which he does so to the strangers who will listen as he waits for his bus. From inspiring Elvis, overcoming physical ailments, college football, meeting the president and so much more. It really is a wonderful tale of love, loss and life! A must-have on the favourite film list.
Spirited Away For Your Favourite Films
A beautiful anime film focusing on a little girl who becomes lost in the world of spirits. Crazy characters and a beautiful tale of friendships and triumph as she tries to save her parents and find her way back to the human world. Spirited Away is a jewel in the crown of Studio Ghibli.
Steel Magnolias
This story of a group of women struggling with life and finding solace in ‘Trudy’s’ salon (played by the wonderful Dolly Parton among the plethora of A-list celebs). Following the women through moments of love, weddings, babies and life. We also follow their happiness and their worst moments imaginable. A real tear-jerker but a fantastic movie.
The Witches
I am a huge Roald Dahl fan and I mean huge! This is a childhood favourite of mine for sure. We see the story of a small boy. Whilst taking a trip with his grandma he comes face to face with a pack of witches who turn him into a mouse. He must adventure to save not only himself but all children!
The Goonies
Again this is another childhood classic for me and a film I love. A group of friends is being forced from their homes. They take the opportunity to go on one last adventure in search of the legendary, ‘One-eyed Willy’s’ treasure. But will they make it with the escaped, dangerous Fratelli family after them? Pirates, clues, traps and a cracking great film!
A Nightmare Before Christmas is on Everyone’s Favourite Films List, Right?
Now this is a classic for most of us by now and being a huge Tim Burton fan I adore this film. Perfect to watch from October until December! It follows the story of Jack Skeleton who, being the King of Halloween, has grown weary of his ‘assigned’ holiday. After finding a special door in the woods he becomes obsessed with Christmas. With lots of deep and emotional characters, it’s still full of fun and mischief. Like I said a classic!
Trolls
A newer film on my list but being a child of ’90s, most of us were obsessed with Troll dolls and had so many of them! I loved my troll dolls and was ecstatic when they announced a film. If you’ve not seen it finds Princess Poppy taking a great adventure to not only save her friends but the whole troll kingdom and face the worst enemies imaginable! A brilliant film and I am 100% hoping for another!
My Neighbour Totoro
This is another film from the imagination of Studio Ghibli and another beautiful story. Two sisters move into a new house with their father, closer to the hospital their mum is staying in. Soon they begin to notice strange creatures and in no time at all find themselves befriending a tree spirit. A light-hearted and pretty film but it has its moments of real, raw emotion. An amazing film which I absolutely adore.
Moana
As I child I was a huge Disney fan but I have to say after the introduction of Pixar in the 90’s I haven’t been ‘wowed’ by a Disney film. No, I am not a fan of Frozen and I can’t even remember the last new Disney film I enjoyed…..until Moana! A young girl thirsty for adventure finds herself chosen for a once in a lifetime destiny. With the help of a demigod will she be able to reach her goal? This film also has one of the best Disney soundtracks ever and it’s not just because it has the Rock, singing the catchiest tune you ever heard!

OMG The Goonies! What a name drop. I wish I wasn’t at work so I could curl up and watch that right now. I’ve actually never seen Moana but will def try to get to it soon after reading this!
I absolutely love every movie on this list! My all time favourite has to be Spirited Away. Actually anything by Studio Ghibli is amazing.
Yes I’m a huge ghibli fan!!
That’s quite a new list for me. I have heard of only Forest Gump and Moana, but watched none. Shows how diverse the world is and what all we could discover from each other. The first one ‘Labyrinth’ looks a little like ‘Commando’ from a theme perspective
You’re so Right! Could you recommend a film from your country so I could watch? x
These movies r a great pik… my favourite amongst all … will be the witches
Oh I really love Labyrinth with David Bowie. Have you seen Willow? That’s also one of my faves.
Yes I have but I am not a fan of Warwick David 🙈🙈🙈
I haven’t watched the Nightmare before Christmas!!! And I thought I’d seen all the christmas related movies :p ON IT!
