Halloween Fun

Our first time pumpkin picking.

Hello beautiful people how are you? I hope you are well and fantastic. Come with me pumpkin picking this gorgeous Autumn.

Let’s take a little Autumn moment to update you on the Autumn Bucket List that we put together. We have actually completed a fair few of them. But one of the most important for me this year was picking our own pumpkins so that’s exactly what we did.

We took a trip to a local pick your own farm where they had a pumpkin patch. It was in the middle of the gorgeous depths of the countryside. The drive was the most beautiful scenery I’ve possibly seen.

It was a little hard to find but we did get there and the boys and I were so excited. We first decided to stop and enjoy a spot of lunch. It was such a great atmosphere and so magically spooky surrounded by all the pumpkins.

When we were done looking around we headed off to the pumpkin patch and there were signs to follow. The boys ran ALL the way and were just generally loving it! For me, as a mum, that was enough but secretly couldn’t wait to pick the scariest looking pumpkin there. They also had a huge flock of chickens which was awesome and they all ran up to the fence to say hello.

The patch was getting a little bare. We were able to find four perfect pumpkins for picking though. I think my boyfriends is the biggest pumpkin I have ever seen.

After all that hard work we definitely deserved a break and we stopped in the perfect little cafe they have. I had tea, my fella enjoyed a coke and the boys had a squash with biscuits. It was perfectly warming to sit in the cute cafe all decorated and gorgeous!

Not forgetting the mandatory getting lost on the way home of course. Actually ended up accidentally going to Dorset. That was quickly corrected and it is by far one of the most amazing Autumn days out you could ever have. So if you’re in the West Country I can highly recommend Ansty PYO and Farm Shop. They have lots of ‘pick your own’ fruits throughout the year and we will 100% be going back. In the summer when they have strawberries, raspberries, blackberries and so much more.

Well, my loves I hope you enjoyed this pumpkin picking post. If you have the chance to pick your own I hugely suggest it as it was great fun. This will become an annual event for us for sure but next year we want to go earlier. That way we can have a better pick of pumpkins. Do you pick your own? Do you want to now? Let us know in the comments below or on my socials.

Lots of Love,
Tahnee xxx

  1. That looks like tons of fun. I’d love to experience doing that as well!

  2. Well next year picking our own pumpkins will definitely be in my autumn bucket list ! Lovely post as always! 🙂

  3. This makes me miss fall so much!! Living vicariously through you this Halloween 🙂

  4. What a great place to go pumpkin picking! The pumpkin patches we used to go to were more stands on the side of the road than fun farms to explore.
