Blue Eyes Edition

Hello my loves and how are you all? I do hope you’re well and I must start today’s blog with an apology as my blogs have been beyond all over the place. Although I try not to worry if I miss an upload by a day or two it still does bother me! So I am sorry for that.

Moving on, however, this post is the first in what will be four perhaps five eyeshadow looks I would like to share with you over the next few weeks.

I have a great secret eyeshadow trick to share with you all today though and it’s about bright coloured eyeshadow. I will be posting three blogs that will demonstrate great eyeshadow colours for all colour types.
A lot of people are afraid or unsure where to even start when it comes to coloured eye shadow so I am here to help! The secret you need to remember is to match your eyes! It is that simple and the way your eyes will pop after will just blow you away. I roped my blue eyed bestie. Kerry, into helping me with this blue eyeshadow look. I’m sure you’ll agree she looks sensational.

So I started off by adding a layer of non-liquid concealer to the eye lid. Now, you won’t believe the difference it will make to the pigment colour and how visible the colour is. I started by using the ‘Sea Foam’ shade from my MUA ‘Solstice’ palette. which this light blue shade and I applied this all over the lid. I love the slight sparkle it has!

After this, I added this gorgeous dark blue ‘Midnight’ from the MUA ‘Winter Forest’ palette. As you can tell from the shape the darker section should be a bit above and at the outer edges is perfect. Finally, I added just a tiny little bit of this greeny/blue colour, ‘Aqua’ from the same palette, on the join of the light and dark blue and blended this out just so the two tones of blue would blend a little better.
When it comes to blending just gently rub the brush along the hard lines so that they’re instead soft and ‘blended out’.

Eyeliner was an easy choice as it’s fun to go big on a look like this so Kerry has some thin winged eyeliner but we went quite far out with it. For the bottom waterline, it had to be a white liner to make the colour pop even better and also lighten the eyes so they’re not too dark, the panda look is not good!

For mascara, I used this great new one I got from Maybelline New York, ‘Big Eyes’. The reason I love this mascara so much is for the lower lash brush as it is just perfect. I then used my ‘Eye Define’ waterproof mascara for the top lashes as the brush is so good and gets right to lash line. Really maximises the volume of lashes whilst being waterproof!

Look how blue the eyes are!! The perfect way to help really make the most of your eye colour and really make them stand out.

  1. This really makes the blue eyes pop! I’m left feeling a bit jealous with my plain old brown eyes!

  2. I am also a fan of sparkly eye shadows! This blue look is really pretty! I’ve seen some terrible blue shadow jobs on people, not like your work at all. I am looking forward to your green eyes post, if you have that coming soon;)

  3. The different shades of blue you chose are very pretty, they definitely made her eye colour stand out and also looked lovely. I like coloured eyeshadow but I always seem to get something wrong, I’ll try your tips on my next attempt. 🙂

  4. Wow! Your eye color, as well as the shadow you applied, are beautiful! Since I have brown eyes, I do use brown shadow or similar and it makes mine pop out more but I’m going to try your technique next time round.
