Black or White Eyeliner? What’s the difference?

So my favourite item of makeup is eyeliner as it always adds that pop to any look. However, should you ditch your black liner? Today I am going to show the difference white and black liner can make to your whole look.
Black or White Eyeliner?
Black eyeliner has been in fashion since ancient times, just look at the Egyptians for example. I’d be tempted to say it’s one of the oldest trends alive! However for some black liner isn’t always the best choice. Did you know it can actually make your eye bags more prominent?
Black eyeliner does help define your eye area but going for a white will open up your eye. Making them appear larger and brighter.
So I tried the same look (changing my lipstick don’t judge a girl) with both black and white liner so we can visibly see the difference. Starting with the black liner.
Now I love this look with the nude and brown eyeshadow. The winged eyeliner and the smudged black look underneath is my go to smokey look. However if we have a look at this with the white eyeliner.
You can see that my eye look immediately brighter. The black also highlights the black bags under my eyes more than the white. It’s actually hard to believe it can make such a difference but it can. This is also the best choice for photography makeup. For the exact reason that it helps with brightening the eye area which can become darker in photos.
What’s your go-to eyeliner? I am known to wear coloured liner as well so maybe one of those looks next. They’ll be great for summer and festival season that will be upon very soon. I love the affect the white eye liner has on the dark rings under the eyes. I must give this a try, having little kids, mine look wild…

One thing I like about eyeliners is that it can be used in various styles and changes the entire look. Not a fashion pro but that’s my view.
Your soooo right! It can also make a break look to so caution is key!!

Aaaawww eyeliner is my favorite makeup item too!! I love love it. Never tried white or any other color except black. Right now I’m using Maybelline Kohl Kajal and I love it.
I do love a khol!!! However I hugely suggest trying something new as you may be pleasently surprised! White is the easiest transition to make though xx

Oooooo I do love a good black eyeliner look but when looking really tired it makes it appear worse but good on you for knowing what you love xx

I have a thing for black, purple, and tan eyeliners, they give the eyes this glow and shimmer which I really like. lol 🙂

I always tell myself I’ll pick up a nude or a white eyeliner everytime I pop into the local drugstore but I never do! I love how much it opens your eyes and makes then so much brighter!
